UPCOMING SPEAKERS:
1. On Wednesday, Oct. 24 and Nov. 7, Victoria’s day, John Rogers, will come in and talk about how he started Ariel Capital Management, the investment philosophy behind the firm with specific example of how it works, and how one evaluates management of a firm that they are thinking of investing in–with video demonstration of the method they use.
2. On either Friday the 9th or 16th of November, Allen Sanderson, who teaches the introductory econ. course at the University, will speak to us about sports economics–perhaps the use of steroids in sports.

CLASS ONE: QUIZ on Peter Lynch, John Rogers’ talk and material, and chapter 6 in Colander. HOMEWORK: for period 2, they need to read the current events articles, “Captives of the Supply Side” and the “Piracy Paradox” plus pages 166-175 in Colander for Wednesday. Period 3 needs to read the current events articles for Tuesday and pages 166-175 for Wednesday.

CLASS TWO: period 2 will discuss Monday’s homework; period 7 will discuss the current events articles.

CLASS THREE: period 7 will discuss the first half of Chapter 7

HOMEWORK OVER THE WEEKEND FOR BOTH CLASSES: finish chapter 7.
