AP ECON. WEEK #9

KEY DATES:
1. Aside from the two distinguished speakers we have coming in on Wednesday and Friday of this week, we will have a quiz on Monday, Nov. 12. that will cover chapter 7 in Colander, John Rogers’ second talk, and Allen Sanderson’s handouts and talk. The Quiz Keys for this quiz will be complete by Sunday at 6:00 p.m.

UPCOMING SPEAKERS:
1. On Wednesday, Oct. 24 and Nov. 7, Victoria’s day, John Rogers, will come in and talk about how he started Ariel Capital Management, the investment philosophy behind the firm with specific example of how it works, and how one evaluates management of a firm that they are thinking of investing in–with video demonstration of the method they use.
2. On either Friday the 9th or 16th of November, Allen Sanderson, who teaches the introductory econ. course at the University, will speak to us about sports economics–perhaps the use of steroids in sports.

CLASS ONE: we will discuss the second half of chapter 7. HOMEWORK: the two handout from Allen Sanderson. They will be due the third class period for 2nd period and the second class period for 7th period.

CLASS TWO: 2nd period will hear John Rogers and 7th will discuss Sanderson’s materials.

CLASS THREE: 2nd period will discuss Sanderson’s materials and 7th period will hear John Rogers.

CLASS FOUR: we will hear Sanderson speak on sports economics. HOMEWORK: prepare for the Quiz on Monday.
