“The point at issue is not whether Maine and Texas may now talk to one another, but rather whether they have anything significant to say.” — Henry David Thoreau, reacting to news of the telegraph
Welcome to DITBits! I’m Curt Lieneck, Director of Information Technology at the University Laboratory Schools. I hope you will find DITBits to be an engaging, useful, and provocative look at managing technology in the K-12 arena. We’ll jump around some - lessons learned in the trenches, reflections on what technology means for kids, schools, teachers, and communities, interesting tools, products, and services, and issues peculiar to school technology directors (particularly those of us who work in independent schools).
Whether or not DITBits will rise to Thoreau’s level of “significant” remains to be seen. To better my chances of meeting that criterion, I make the following pledges:
Pledge 1: I will keep DITBits as jargon-free as possible.
Pledge 2: I will keep my posts concise. No ranting.
Pledge 3: I will make new posts in a timely fashion.
