HS girls lose to Latin 64-58, snap 18 game winning streak

It had to end sometime, and it’s too bad it had to happen against Latin.  Playing in Loyola University’s Gentile Center, Latin came out firing and U-High looked stunned.  By the end of the first quarter the tally was 24-9 in favor of the bad guys.  U-high played just about even in the 2nd and 3rd quarter and then came storming back in the 4th.  Down 19 at the start the fourth, U-high cut it 4 points with 1:15 to go.  But the deficit was too much to over come.

It was a tough loss that snapped the ladies’ 16 game winning streak, their first loss since Nov. 21st.  The loss makes the girls’ record 18-3 and 8-1 in the ISL

Johanna Heineman-Pieper scored a career high 21 points in the effort, and Alexis Jenkins added 19.
