The 7th Grade baseball team lost a heart-breaker to Latin 12-6 at Washington Park for their first game of the season. The game was nip and tuck for 6 2/3 innings with the Maroons trailing 7-6. Unfortunately, the old baseball adage “the last out is always the toughest to get” came true as Latin scored 5 insurance runs after 2 outs were recorded in top of the 7th inning making the final score 12-6 in favor of Latin. Steven Glick was stellar on the mound and at the plate for the Maroons as he pitched 6 2/3 innings, scattering 8 hits while striking out 16. At the plate Steven was 3 for 4 with 2 RBI’s and 1 run scored.
