In one of their last ISL games, U-High took on the Latin Romans in a fill-the-field showdown. Latin, vying for the top of the conference position, promised to be a tough opponent. Fortunately, the Maroons were up for the challenge.
U-High dominated the first half, controlling possession and moving off the ball. The strong effort put forward resulted in Emily Kuo’s header goal off of Ciara Zagaja’s cross, shortly following the start of the game. Persistance earned Emily Kuo her second goal, finishing off of a rebounding shot from Amelia Acosta. Although the Maroons did not score the rest of the game, Rachel Bishop held down the defensive line, preventing the Romans from putting one in.
The Maroons play Lake Forest Academy on Thursday at 4:30 for the ISL championship match.
