Girls Varsity Soccer Advances to Sectional Finals with 4-0 McAuley Repeat Victory

The University High Maroons met Mother McAuley for the second time in two weeks and achieved very similar results, winning, once again 4-0.

Coming out with incredible concentration and readiness, due, in part, to the encouraging words of Ciara Zagaja, the Maroons wasted no time in putting one away. Emily Kuo, scoring in the first 4 minutes off of a long pass from Rachel Bishop, started U-High off on a high note. Lucy O’Keefe kept the Maroons on target, assisting Gabbie Clark in the second goal of the game. In what has been described as her most beautiful goal of the season, Chrissy Delicata finished from distance off of a long pass from Gabbie. In the middle of the second half, Rachel and Emily repeated their combination to  end the game, 4-0.

Due to their performance today, the Maroons continue their quest for the sectional title on Thursday versus the fourth seeded Kelly.

Today’s game also marked head coach Mike Moses’ 100th victory on the girls’ side. Many congratulations to Coach Moses and all of his players!
