JV Boys Soccer second win in two days over Riverside Brookfield; 1-0

The U-High Maroons took their game on the road on this Thursday afternoon to face the Riverside Brookfield Bulldogs.

The turf pitch magnified any mistakes made by either team, but the Maroons were able to shore up their defense with the assistance of sweeper Ben Postone and defender Josh Koenig.

U-High scored the lone goal in the 27th minute on a ball Shane Veeneman put across the face of the goal which was buried by Dean Balabanov.

Keeper Philip Lockwood-Bean made his biggest save in the opening minutes, and was able to preserve the shutout, his 4th of the season.

The Maroons (8-3-2, 5-0) will look to stay perfect in conference play with a 4:30 match at the Latin School Tuesday, October 7th.
