Out to prove themselves as one of the city’s premier teams, the Maroons faught with intensity and determination against soccer powerhouse Kelly High School. Both teams attempted to gain control of the midfield but the game was mostly played through long balls from the defense third. Seconds from halftime a stroke of luck put U-High ahead. Attempting to clear a bouncing ball in their box, a Kelly defender forced an akward clearence and scored an own goal. The second half went back and forth with no team able to break through the opposition’s defensive line
