A cold and rainy afternoon made perfect weather for a south side soccer showdown as the Maroons took on local rival Mount Carmel Caravan in Jackson Park.
Proving they would be taken seriously, the Maroons struck in the 2nd minute on some nifty passing from Shane Veeneman, and a solid finish by Dean Balabanov. In the 20th minute, they dynamic duo switched roles, as Dean earned the assist and Shane the goal.
U-High was not about to leave this pitch with clean uniforms, as they played solid team defense to help earn keeper Philip Lockwood-Bean his fifth shutout.
The Maroons (10-3-2, 6-0) will end their season Satuday, October 18th (10:00am) looking to avenge their early season loss at Timothy Christian.
