The girls played with a lot of heart and hustle to come out on top. They are back in action Friday, January 23 at 6pm at home and Saturday, January 24 at 11am at Elgin Academy.

The seventh grade girls won a close game against Morgan Park Academy 17 - 14. The girls played excellent defense in this low scoring battle. All of the girls contributed to the win through scoring, rebounding and terrific footwork on defense. Keep up the good work, girls!

The swim team lost to St Ignatius College Prep on Tuesday, January 20th on both levels. Varsity lost 101-63 and JV lost 61-49. David Chung (sophomore) did win the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 5:28 and moved into 8th place on the Top Ten List for UH swimmers in that event.

The Swimming Maroons finished 8th of nine teams at the Riverside-Brookfield Invitational on Saturday, January 17th. Despite swimming in a just-opened state-of-the-art pool at RB, most swimmers were not on their best times for this meet.

The swim Team defeated Whitney Young HS in a dual meet on Tuesday, january 13th at the Ratner Center. Varsity won 91-72 and JV won 84-43. There were some good swims at our first meet back after winter break.

Both levels of the swim team lost to a tough Latin team on Friday, December 12th. Varisty score was 89-73. JV had a close meet losing 44-42.

Both levels, V and JV, defeated Northside College Prep on Tuesday, December 9th. Varisty score was 99-70; JV score was 68-56. This was an especially good win for Varsity because they lost a close match last year again NCP.

The seventh grade girls defeated Ancona 23 - 10 to improve their record to 2 - 5. Stacy Stern scored the season’s first three point shot. All of the girls did an outstanding job on defense. Our rebounding has improved significantly which gave us many second chance opportunities under the basket. Great job girls!

The girls picked themselves up after a tough loss to Latin, trouncing Parker in the process. After going down 6-0 in the first quarter, U-High went on 30-0 run to finish the first quarter. The maroons got into foul trouble early which ultimately lead to their demise. Alexis Jenkins scored 32 despite having to be pulled from the game early in the 3rd quarter after collecting her 4th foul. This is the girls’ second loss of the season, and first in the ISL. The girls are 15-2, 6-1.
