The girls notched a huge victory last night against a strong Timothy Christian team. After trading baskets in the first quarter, the girls edged forward to lead by 5 by the end of the quarter. They never lost the lead, but U-High had to withstand a few surges by the Trojans from T.C. The team defense was strong again, limiting Timothy’s 3-point shots and altering shots in the paint to turn them into misses.
Alexis Jenkins led all scorers with 25 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. Gabby Lubin contributed 12 points, and Johanna Heineman-Peiper had another strong performance with 10 points.
The win improves the girls’ record to 20-2 for the season with home stretch in sight - three more games.
