The U High Track Team opened the season Friday night against Jones College Prep, North Shore, Urban Prep, Loyola Academy and St Ignatius  at Crown Field House. They had some outstanding performances. Taking firsts were: Leah Sibener in the 55 dash, Aoife MacMahon in the 1600 run, the 4 x 200 relay of Emma Davis, Leah Sibener, Kiara Davis and Marissa Guiang, the 4 x 800 relay of Sherry Fu, Josey Mintel, Aoife MacMahon and Emily Kuo, Emily Kuo in the long jump and Zack Reneau-Wedeen in the 200 dash. Great job by everyone. Our next meet is Feb 27th at the field house. We will then run on March 6th when we will commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the 1st ever Boys State Track Championship that was won by U High in 1909! The 1909 win started  a series of 3 consecutive state championships! That night we will have our 4 time state title holder from the early 1990’s run an exhibition in the 200 meters.
