U-High slipped past St. Ignatius 3-2 yesterday at the U-High home courts.  Tyler Anderson won at first singles and put on a display of some very focused and high-powered tennis.  Tyler defeated Ignatius’ Cory Colnon, 6-1, 6-0.  Second doubles, Bill Steuben and Evan Levin had a tough match against McPherrin and Piccione but prevailed in two close sets, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4.  Third doubles, Alex Hsu and Anneesh Kanakamedala, took the decisive third point for U-High with their win over Peterson and Dangirdas, 6-2, 6-3.

Another close and hard fought match resulted in a loss for second doubles team Mark Wittels and Madhav Suresh.  They lost in straight sets, 4-6, 3-6.  Second singles, Aneesh Gupta, had a three setter against Peter Naleas.  The two singles players were pretty evenly matched and the match was close through out even though the Ignatius player was able to prevail in the third set and defeat Aneesh, 6-4, 4-6, 6-0.
