This past weekend the U-High Girls Tennis Team won the state sectional tournament for the third straight year.  U-High finished in first place with 26 points, followed by Morgan Park Academy in second with 23 points, Marist in third with 21 points, Eisenhower and Mother McAuley in fourth with 8 points, DeLaSalle in sixth place with 6 points, Brooks in 7th place with 4 points, and Morgan Park, Simeon, and Maria in 8th place with no points.

Five U-High players qualified to play in the State Finals tournament:  Gabbie Clark, Rachel Sylora, Leslie Sibener, Brianna Solola, and Laura Anderson.  Gabbie Clark finished second in singles competition, losing in the championship match to Jerricka Boone from Morgan Park Academy, 3-6, 0-6.

The doubles championship was an all U-High affair:  Laura Anderson and Rachel Sylora defeated Brianna Solola and Leslie Sibener, 6-3, 6-4 and finished first and second, respectively.  Senior, Margo Turek, also competed at second singles in the tournament.
The 2009 U-High Girls Tennis Team has accomplished what no other girls team has ever done:    an ISL Championship and a Sectional Championship in the same season!
