11.07.08 Fac Dev: Tech Spotlights
Today, we had a wonderful faculty sharing time. Diane Jackson shared with our department how she’s been using blabberize.com to accent her personal website for the 8th graders. She’s also been using QUIZLET for student practice. Grace Romanelli, one of our French teachers, described what it’s been like for her to get started with DiLL and using the lab. She reported that she does see a real difference in confidence and the quality of output once students have made regular trips to the lab.
Suzanne Baum discussed her recent iWeb project and some of the pitfalls but potential benefits of actually “publishing a web page” versus creating a Keynote presentation. Allison chimed in to remind teachers about the video capabilities of Photo Booth (videos can be easily dragged into other applications). Marianne Zemil talked about using TimeLiner to diagram events in a book. Finally, Angelica Guerrero reviewed her iFlash deck project that she did at the beginning of the school year.
Kudos to all of these teachers for their extraordinary work in the classroom and in the lab. We are off to great start this year and it’s really exciting!
